WHAT IS LOCATE THE LOCAL ALL ABOUT?

Locate the Local is a quarterly box subscription company whose goal is to find the unique, the useful and the tasty, all while keeping it Canadian-made.  We’ve been searching the entire country for the best artisans, makers and vendors and are excited to share their products with you! 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO FIND IN MY LOCATE THE LOCAL BOX?

Each box will contain 4-6 full sized products for your enjoyment!  We believe that to truly test out products, you need the real deal, the whole schpeel...the full size!  We’re keeping it all a secret until it’s at your door, but may let out a spoiler or two on our Instagram and Facebook pages, so keep your eyes peeled.  Don't be nervous!  We promise you that we’ve done our homework, and stand behind each item that we include.  Your goodies will be a mixture of household items, beauty and wellness products, jewelry and accessories, and of course, some cooking items and treats to try out! 

HOW DOES THE BOX-TO-BOX SUBSCRIPTION WORK?

First off, thanks for your interest in our subscription!  By signing up for a box-to-box subscription, you will pay for the first box upon placing your order.  The $10.00 flat rate shipping fee will also be charged.  The subscription will auto-renew on the 5th of the month, one month before the box will ship.  For example, The April box will ship on April 5th, so you will be charged on March 5th for the April box.  The auto-renew dates are: December 5th (for January), March 5th (for April), June 5th (for July), and September 5th (for October). 

HOW DOES THE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION WORK?

Woo!  We’re officially in this thing together!  The year subscription signs you up for 4 boxes, shipped out quarterly by January 5th, April 5th, July 5th, and October 5th.  You save a total of $25 by choosing this option!  The entire bill is paid upfront and shipping is included, so you won’t see any other charges all year.  This subscription will also auto-renew after the first year is completed. 

WHEN AM I CHARGED FOR THE BOX-TO-BOX OPTION AFTER THE INITIAL PAYMENT?

Your billing and shipping will be charged on the 5th of the month, one month prior to your box being shipped (Example, March 5th for the April box). 

WHEN DO THE LOCATE THE LOCAL BOXES SHIP?

Locate the Local boxes ship on the 5th of the month, in January, April, July and October. 

HOW CLOSE TO THE SHIPPING DATE CAN I ORDER?

As we source from all across Canada, and like to support amazing small businesses, we need to ensure that our suppliers have time to create, package and send us their goods.  For this reason, new orders must be in before December 5th for the January box, March 5th for the April box, June 5th for the July box, and September 5th for the October box. 

ARE TAXES EXTRA?

Nope! Taxes are on us! 

IF I KNOW OF A PRODUCT THAT WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THE LOCATE THE LOCAL BOX, WHO CAN I CONTACT?

Any ideas for products that you would love to see in one of our boxes can be sent to locatethelocal@gmail.com, with the subject line ‘PRODUCTS’. 

WHAT IS THE PROCESS AND TIMELINE FOR CANCELLING A SUBSCRIPTION?

We’re sorry to hear you’re leaving us!  Thank you for your past support!  In order to cancel, simply log in to your account and click the ‘unsubscribe’  button.  As we charge for the upcoming boxes one month before shipping, the subscription would need to be cancelled before then.  For example, should you unsubscribe on March 4th, you would not be charged for or shipped your April box.  However, if you were to cancel on March 5th after midnight CST, you would be charged for the April box, and your subscription would end after this quarter. 

CAN I RETURN MY LOCATE THE LOCAL BOX OR ANY PRODUCTS IN IT?

Unfortunately we do not accept any returns on boxes or individual products.  If your products are damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our very best to resolve the issue. 

I DID NOT RECEIVE ONE OF MY QUARTERLY BOXES THAT WAS ORDERED.  WHAT DO I DO?

Should you not receive your box from Locate the Local, the first step is to check the tracking number that you have been provided via email.  If this avenue does not provide you with answers, please contact us as soon as possible, either through the ‘Contact Us’ page on the site, or at locatethelocal@gmail.com. Boxes should all be received by the end of the month they were shipped in.  Locate the Local needs to be made aware of the missing box by the 5th of the following month.  After this time, we will be much less able to track it or offer you compensation. 

I WANT TO SEND A LOCATE THE LOCAL BOX AS A GIFT.  WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT?

Great!  We think that the gift of ‘good mail’ goes such a long way, especially if it's the yearly kind!  There is an option at the time of check out to indicate whether this is a gift or not.  If it is, we will send you a leaflet with a description of what we’re all about, so that your friend/family member/co-worker knows what service they’re getting!  Please note that these boxes auto-renew just like any other, so make sure you’re paying attention to the billing dates! 

DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE OF CANADA?

At this very moment, we do not ship outside of Canada.  However, please feel free to contact us with any requests!  The more feedback we get on this, the more capable we will be of facilitating the process.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT CAN I USE?

We accept all major credit cards through our secure Stripe online store.
